Fairey Swordfish I
The Shuttleworth Collection 2016.

It was wonderful to see this beautiful aircraft gracing the skies once more as it must be nearly fifteen years since I last saw this aircraft in the air. She is one of just three airworthy examples of the Swordfish that survive today and is the oldest of them all, in fact this aircraft is the oldest surviving Swordfish anywhere in preservation. She belongs to the Royal Navy Historic Flight based at Royal Navy Air Station Yeovilton. The flight also operate a second airworthy example of the Swordfish, a Mk.II variant. Both of the flight's Swordfish underwent a major restoration period from around 2001. The flights Mk.II made her post restoration flight back in 2010, however this example had to wait until 2015 to regain her wings. Ironically the flight's Mk.II is now grounded with technical issues so we must wait once more to get the two in formation. I'm sure it will happen in the not too distant future though.
